The Finance Playbook
for Entrepreneurs;
Build a Solid Finance Department for your High Growth Start-up without the Trial and Error
Having advised high-growth startups for many years, one consistent theme in working with early stage entrepreneurs is their basic understanding of accounting, taxation, company structures and processes. There are many reasons why this is the case but none more acute than there being no single source of truth for how to get the basics right and the classic problem of not knowing what you don’t know.
This book aims to level the playing field so that there is somewhat of a level starting point for entrepreneurs from all backgrounds.
In 11 chapters, I have summarised the key considerations in setting up a finance department and how that can feed into the success of your company as a whole. Simple lessons, processes, tips and tricks are discussed and set out for you to simply, copy! These ideas have come from spending time with hundreds of startups and founders over thousands of hours to distil the concepts that I felt could be codified in an easy to digest format.
